The Shell Shocked Victor 10

So this cosplay came out of a strange place for me, i never really planned on cosplaying Katniss, after seeing Catching Fire though i was a little tempted by her wedding dress, but still didn't really feel like i would and this is because for the most part if try to avoid live action stuff (unless i've been told i look like the actress like in the case of Leeloo). No i didn't think i would ever cosplay Katniss, i just wanted to make the cowl she worn at the start of the movie, because i live in Canada and it looked comfy and warm (which it totally is, here's the pattern if any of you want to make it www.lionbrand.com/patterns/L30… its SUPER easy and fast to make). Once i had the cowl done though it made me want to cosplay her >.< so i found the jacket at the thrift store and i already own the boots and pants. I think this is my best 'closet' cosplay. 

It was SOO super cold shooting and it was really hard on my fingers with the bow string and metal arrows/bow, but i think it was worth it. Trillance was so great during the shoot it was really hard finding a parking space to get to the location because it had just snowed a lot the night before, but we were lucky and i'm happy for it. I love the opening scene of the movie and how it shows how she's not really adjusted back to the 'peaceful' life and the trauma she's suffered, i think they did a great job in the movie of showing her (and Peeta's) PTSD. 

Well i hope you enjoy this set! I am planning on doing some more Katniss cosplays in the future now, including her wedding dress and maybe a video once i get good with the bow >.<
